    The Junior Financial Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports while ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures. In addition to reviewing bank reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and other work that is prepared by our offshore Finance team, the Financial Accountant will liaise with multiple business units and the Commercial Finance team to monitor budgets & forecast. The successful candidate will possess as a solid understanding of accepted accounting practices/principles and be able to apply them within a highly complex environment. Previous experience in the media or advertising industry would be considered a valuable asset.


    Accounting, Reporting and Analysis:

    Review monthly revenue and expenses for accruals

    Provide in depth analytics and commentary on financial results vs forecast

    Monitor of all reporting deliverables (monthly forecasts, YE and QE supplementary packs) across all Dentsu Aegis Network's Canadian entities, ensuring timely submission in line with deadlines

    Oversee capital monitoring and cash forecast

    Oversee and manage offshore teams

    Monitor outstanding intercompany balances and settlement

    Support as needed in government tax audits; internal/external financial audits

    Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements

    Client & Internal Relationships:

    Collaborate in preparing and delivering work to colleagues & clients

    Respond to requests for information quickly and accurately

    Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

    Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner

    Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate

    Assist in constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents

    Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them

    Communications Skills:

    Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications

    Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner

    Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially

    Develop reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive


    Post-secondary Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field 

    CPA certification or currently in progress

    A minimum 3 years of financial & reporting experience

    Thorough understanding of the financial process

    Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles

    Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment

    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

    Previous experience using a large ERP systems
