    Position Title: Product Owner

    Department: Technology
    Position Type: Salaried
    Reports to: VP, Customer Experience

    Location: Remote

     

    Reporting to the VP, Customer Experience, the Product Owner has the following responsibilities:

     

    • Work closely with business stakeholders to define and prioritize the product backlog and product roadmap for SocialPatrol
    • Articulate detailed user stories, write acceptance criteria, participate in daily scrum, and answer questions as the customer representative
    • Communicate clearly and often with the development team, collaborate with the design team, and be prepared to train internal support teams on new releases
    • Frequently re-prioritize backlogs based on stakeholder feedback, business priority and available resources
    • Hold development team accountable to their commitments and perform Product Verification Testing (PVT) on all enhancements
    • Attend all required Scrum meetings including: daily (virtual) stand-ups, weekly product meetings, backlog grooming, etc.
    • Organizes and leads usability sessions with SocialPatrol Success Team
    • Work with the ML Trainer to implement more automation on projects to support improved efficiency for clients
    • Monitor social media API updates. Create and prioritize issues for the development team to work on to ensure SocialPatrol stays up to date with the latest trends
    • Complete competitor analysis on other social media tools.
    • Work closely with Marketing on the creation of SocialPatrol internal communications on new features released
    • Oversee the piloting of new features with identified managers and projects
    • Support the creation and maintenance of LMS training documentation for new and existing features within SocialPatrol
    • Monitor FreskDesk for SocialPatrol issues and identify any concerning trends. Escalate to the Technology team as required.
    • Other duties as may be necessary from time to time

      • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field of work or equivalent work experience

     

    • Minimum 3 years experience working with an Agile product development team, experience in a Product Owner role as asset
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize strong leadership skills to provide guidance, influence and direction
    • Proven ability to create detailed, thoughtful and actionable requirements including functional specifications, UI designs, workflow diagrams etc.

     

    • Strong time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, & respond to changes quickly.
    • Ability to translate metrics into business decisions of importance and priorities
    • Passion and understanding of social media networks and competitor tools, new technology and digital trends
    • Strong decision making skills coupled with good judgment.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
    • Strong sense of ownership & pride in work.

    Qualifications

    • Professional Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated career progression in a similar capacity, preferably within the digital/social media industry.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Some travel may be required. Valid passport is required.
    • Must have adequate computer and headset/mic, and subscribe to high speed internet.
    • Proficient computer literacy proven through work experience in software applications, spreadsheet tabulations, social media coordination, etc.
    • Awareness of current social media trends.
    • Proven history of developing new, sustainable processes.
    • The candidate will be required to successfully undergo a Criminal Record Check.
    • Must adhere to ICUC’s internal company policies
