Dentsu Aegis Network is looking for a Director, Talent Acquisition to guide, support and play a critical role in the growth of our Talent Acquisition team in Canada.


The Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the national talent acquisition process and strategy across all Dentsu Aegis Network brands for Canada. Through supporting the various business needs, the Director, Talent Acquisition will build senior level relationships with the leadership across Dentsu Aegis Network (both within HR and with the business).  This role will also aid in developing and ensuring implementation of a modern data and metrics led talent acquisition strategy, encompassing strategic workforce planning, organisational talent forecasting, talent pipelining and talent procurement in the framework of global principles and processes.



  • Visible point person to lead senior level searches/recruitment strategy and approach for Dentsu Aegis Network in Canada in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Team
  • Work with broader teams to set priorities and ensure all roles are being sourced and filled 
  • Identify and provide innovative solutions to Recruiting approach
  • Create and maintain relationships with all external search firms (contract negotiation, temp staffing solutions, etc.)
  • Create and maintain efficient recruiting workflow processes and systems
  • Shares Talent Acquisition best practice with Business Managers and other HR Disciplines and Talent Acquisition colleagues globally
  • Miscellaneous projects as needed

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Lead and contribute to the development of recruiting and workforce planning strategies
  • Articulate effective strategic rationale and logic flow
  • Provide key information to the HR team regarding recruitment challenges and patterns
  • Ensure best practices are being utilised by the broader TA team and all hiring managers as it relates to interviewing, selection and pre-employment assessment tools
  • Translates the DAN vision into effective Talent Acquisition frameworks and programs in agreement with global policies, standards and frameworks, and with a high degree of regional anchoring and local market ownership and endorsement.
  • Analyses and evaluates key supply and demand changes in their talent pools to deliver programs with a winning employee experience
  • Supports Global Talent Acquisition projects and ensures that key Business Leaders are engaged appropriately
  • Ensures the development of a regional Strategic Workforce Plan
  • Ensures the development of guidelines for local and international mobility to make sure that employees feel engaged by the career opportunities in the group.
  • Supports the development of a new generation of Global Leaders by facilitating Cross Brand-/Cross-functional and cross-country career moves in conjunction with the Director of Talent Management


  • Work in conjunction with TA Operations Manager to oversee Applicant Tracking System (ATS): job postings, open position information, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with broader HR team (both global and local) as well as Talent Acquisition team in the local market to help implement and champion use of Workday Recruitment system
  • Will play a pivotal role in the transition the Talent Acquisition team from iCIMS TAS to Workday Recruitment platform from an RMS perspective, with no business interruptions

Communication Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in written and verbal communication
  • Develop presentation materials/reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive
  • Adapt communication style to relevant audience
  • Establish and maintain communications process within HR group and internal operational teams
  • Maintain frequent dissemination of pertinent information to the HR team


  • 8+ years’ experience leading strategy for Talent Acquisition at the national level, with a minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team
  • Previous experience in a related industry (marketing, creative, digital) is considered a strong asset
  • Previous experience implementing or championing new technology systems considered a strong asset
  • Extensive experience in HR best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of the business in its operational and financial aspects
  • Practical experience and theoretical knowledge about HR talent acquisition processes including strategic Workforce Planning, Employer Branding, Onboarding
