The Senior Broadcast Activator is expected to have day-to-day responsibility for assigned accounts and is expected to have an understanding of the client’s overall business and marketing objectives.  In this role you will be the steward of the tactical planning and buying process and provides mid-level strategic recommendations to the senior media team and/or client. The Senior Broadcast Activator is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media space and available media research.

Responsibilities

Media Planning and Execution:

  • Maintain media budgets or media spend summaries
  • Work in conjunction with planners on billing and invoicing to maintain consistent process
  • Keep abreast of all invoice, billing and delivery issues; know when to escalate discrepancies to supervisors
  • Write POVs as needed and evaluate new media types / outlets
  • Provide syndicated research support during development of Objectives & Strategies and plans
  • Manage added value / merchandising components of media buys
  • Create and manage estimates and enter buying specs/goals into Adtraq
  • Meet with media reps and coordinate with other Dentsu Aegis specialty units as required
  • May oversee the work of Assistant ensuring that all deliverables are error free before they are submitted to Supervisors/clients

 

Media Buying and Execution:

  • Negotiate cost efficient schedules on behalf of the clients
  • Coordinate all aspects of the buying process
  • Maintain all purchase schedules
  • Work closely with vendors
  • Generate Adtraq reports as required
  • Seek creative solutions to enhance buy product

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • May manage day-to-day interaction with planning teams
  • May manage expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Assist Supervisor in growing business opportunities within current clients

Strategic Thinking & Leadership: 

  • Shares new and relevant advertising opportunities in written and verbal form
  • Strategizes ways to most effectively use media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients
  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of media planning/buying experience and a thorough understanding of the media process, media department & inter-department relationships.  The ability to thrive in a fast pace, constantly changing environment is key for success in  this role. 

  • College or University education in Marketing and / or Media
  • Experience with full planning cycle & development / implementation of media plans
  • Capacity to adapt plans due to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and present well-considered ideas and solutions
  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
  • Media vendor negotiation experience would be considered a valuable asset
