The Activations and Events team creates market leading activations and consumer experiences that allow our clients to connect with their target market, leveraging their passion points in highly engaging and meaningful ways. Notable programs/activations have included Tangerine’s Community Gym and UNITY Festival activations, Canada Bread’s Global Energy Race, and all Scotiabank activations including the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, NHL Centennial Classic, NHL Winter Classic, NHL Faceoff events, NHL All Star Games, Rogers Hometown Hockey, Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada and Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest.


Job summary

To assist the Activations + Events team ensuring the execution of client projects by providing support and ongoing communications on all aspects of the projects, leading to our clients executing exciting and positive consumer experiences.


  • Contribute to the execution of all client projects, including working with other functional teams to monitor progress on all projects; build/manage project deliverables, run sheets and critical paths.
  • Provide professional and efficient support to the Supervisor and SVP in preparation for client presentations.
  • Communicate with outside vendors: sourcing, securing, liaising, finalizing details, etc. Day to day liaison with client(s).
  • Develop compelling concept decks that highlight activations that deliver against client strategy and measurable objectives, produce estimates and provide ongoing budget management and post-event reconciliation, and provide comprehensive post-event reports that provide detailed metrics and offer insightful key learnings and recommendations.
  • Oversee department Coordinators and Interns who will be directly reporting into this position (e.g. provide oversight and support for project deliverables, support and development coaching, deliver semi-annual reviews)
  • Ensure client and internal deliverables are completed as per scope of work; proactively identify any issues and solutions and make decisions to keep things on track. Ensure appropriate approvals are secured internally and with the client.
  • Complete all aspects of the reporting process including processing charges, approval on supplier invoices, organizing and filing paperwork as well as administrative details as needed such as expense reporting, timesheets, etc.
  • Keep abreast of real-world trends and activations in the sponsorship space for short presentations to the team during the Weekly Knowledge Share meeting.


  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or other related field of study. Degree/certificate in Sports Management would be considered a valuable asset
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience and at least 1 year of experience leading or managing direct reports
  • Ability to communicate ideas & thoughts clearly, concisely and articulately both in writing and verbally
  • Adept in software applications including proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Interest or experience in digital marketing trends and technology
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing internal and client needs
  • Demonstrates a level of enthusiasm and energy towards the work
  • Quick learner, creative and curious
  • Volunteering, planning or execution of events is considered an asset
