What is Amnet?

Amnet is Dentsu Aegis Network's programmatic buying unit which was created in response to the technology and data revolution in media buying. Amnet specialises in the art and science of programmatic advertising to drive efficient and effective campaign results for clients. What does a Programmatic Trader do?

The Trader is responsible for managing the day-to-day tactical management of client campaigns across multiple Media Brands within the Dentsu Aegis Network which includes but not limited to Carat, Dentsu Media, Vizeum and iProspect. The Trader manages the workflow and integrity across 3 core areas of campaign management, (1) campaign setup and ad trafficking (2) campaign monitoring, reporting and optimization and (3) communications with the agency teams. As a mid-level position, the Trader position represents a specialist who is able to work independently on a multiple set of clients with minimal supervision while adhering to all operational standards and driving business outcomes for clients.


What do I need to succeed in this role?

You can demonstrate strong numerical thinking in an extremely fast paced environment and can adapt to changes to a scope in project (e.g. client objectives, priorities or budgets) while minimizing impact on project momentum. A Trader is expected to increase their understanding and application of the digital landscape with regards to acquiring more advanced tactical knowledge and demonstrates the initiative to participate in advanced projects. The Trader is expected to be an active participant, increasing participation over time in the position and therefore encouraged to contribute ideas and insights that’ll benefit client KPIs.


Programmatic Media Activation and Execution:

  • Ability to respond to a Request For Proposal (RFP) by providing clients with strategic and tactical cross-channel recommendations
  • Accountable for managing IOs with accurately quoted rates and booked media units and ensures compliance of receiving a signed copy of the Media Purchase Authorization (MPA) which includes Amnet’s T&Cs.
  • Acts as the day-to-day internal client contact responsible for quality assurance, communicating pace and performance, optimizations, troubleshooting, campaign launches, monitoring and reporting.
  • Analyzes and interprets media and audience data in order to communicates insights from multiple sources to make effective optimizations that enhance pace and performance
  • Continues to diversify their understanding and expertise across preferred demand side platforms.
  • Accountable for delivering on commercial commitments where relevant and channels feedback to Trading Manager where delivery and performance issues arise
  • Responsible for supporting the day-to-day training and development of the Trading Coordinator
  • Assists the Trading Manager in the strategic direction of existing client accounts
  • Ensures all campaign operations standards are adhere to such as accurate campaign setup and naming conventions
  • Works with the Trading Coordinator to ensure all contracted buys are inputted into our billing system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Works with the Trading Coordinator to ensure campaign spends are actualized accurately in our billing system and updates client reporting (keeps abreast of actualization and post buys in order to ensure system accuracy)
  • Understands how to operate our internal tools that enable the inputting and actualization of media buys
  • Manages any invoice discrepancies in a timely manner where they arise

Communications Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral and written communications
  • Ability to organize ideas and present back information logically and sequentially
  • Assists in the development of media presentations and tactical POVs
  • Assists in client reporting commentary to ensure it’s easy to understand but also compelling and persuasive
  • Ensures key information is provided to the team regarding client issues and/or internal agency issues as they arise

Internal Relationships:

  • Thorough understanding of the media buying process, media department and inter-department relationships
  • Manages day-to-day inter-agency company interaction as far as buy details are concerned (rates/costs, deadlines for asset delivery, launch timeline, etc.)
  • Manages expectations of Investment arm, Media Brands and deliverables
  • Works closely with the inter-agency companies throughout activation process to maintain performance and resolves any issues
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets a good example for their peers
  • Become a trading desk advocate and champion of Amnet by understanding and effectively communicating our value proposition to others

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Proactively assesses problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
  • Constantly curious and participates in face-to-face vendor meetings
  • Keeps up with the latest trends in digital media
  • Proactively resolve issues, knows when and who to escalate to
  • Aptitude for priority management where it concerns managing multiple deliverables/work streams
  • Contributes to strategizing ways to improve and optimize campaign performance to meet client KPIs


  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Business Administration, Finance and/or Marketing)
  • Must have 2-3 years’ experience in Bid Management, Campaign Management/Optimization, or Digital Media Operations.
  • Is proficient with at least two DSPs such as DoubleClick Bid Manager and MediaMath.
  • Aptitude for learning new skills (both technical and organic) and procedures is essential.
  • Proficient with numbers, budgeting and ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data
  • Ability to relate results to client business objectives
  • Mid-level to Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Capable of working under pressure with quick turnarounds
  • Strong problem solving skills
